Recently, my mother asked me what my husband and I liked to do on the weekends. I realized I didn't know how to answer that question. There are many things we like to do, and other things that we end up doing on the weekend. As the new year approaches, it seems the appropriate time to think about what I want out of life, and what changes I want to make.
I once read that there are only 52 Saturday nights a year. I realize that obviously makes sense. There are 52 weeks in a year, and one Saturday each week. But somehow reading it in that jokingly panicked way made me realize that I had better take advantage of them. And then, of course, life came along and I forgot about that idea for a while.
So last night, I sat down and made a list of 52 things my husband and I could do in the upcoming year. He was a little concerned about this project, asking, we're going to try to do all of those things? Of course, we're not likely to get to all of them. There's no space on the list for being sick, or having to deal with unexpected household emergencies and the like. But I figured with a list (you'll soon learn that I LOVE lists), we will at least always have an answer to the question: what should we do this weekend?
Sounds like a great project! Too bad we'll be missing Saturday the 12th!
